Email Marketing is a big part of a blog’s success!
Honestly, I don’t know what I would do without my subscribers! You guys are my community, my support, my reasons to keep working every day on new and helpful email broadcasts 🙂
And I know so many of you are at the beginning of your blogging journey, trying to learn all things, do all things and be all things.
It’s hard and overwhelming at times… I’ve been there too in 2017, so I totally get you.
And I also remember learning that starting an Emails List is one of the most important things to do ASAP.
So I did my research and learned about this cool blogger-turned-entrepreneur guy Nathan Barry. He was fed up with email marketing software being made for big businesses forgetting about the “little guy” (a.k.a. me and you, blogger).
So he created his own and called it ConvertKit.
I wanted it SO BAD, but since I was just getting started on my journey, and making no cash, it was a little pricey (starting at $29/month).
So I did what most beginners do in my shoes, started with a free MailChimp version, collected a list of 1k subscribers and then switched.
And let me tell you, switching from an email software is annoying! You lose all of your stats and have to re-create automation, tags, etc.
But it was totally worth it!
Now you don’t have to go through all of this BS!

ConvertKit Freemium: How to Get A Free ConvertKit Plan
On December 30, 2019, Nathan Barry released some super-duper-exciting news of ConvertKit finally going Freemium for the first time in 7 years!
This event will change the way new future bloggers will get started on their journeys, that’s for sure!
Now, instead of paying $29/month right away for the 5 subscribers you have (most of which are family or friends, let’s be honest here).
You are now able to start completely free! Yay!!
So here is how to get the Free Convertkit Plan:
Step 1: Create a Free Account
Yaaaas, just head over to ConvertKit and sign up for a free account!
It’s as easy as 1-2-3.
And if you have some subscribers already, the set-up process will show you how to transfer them as well!
Step 2: Landing Page That Rocks It
To get email subscribers you need a place to collect emails. That’s pretty obvious.
So, now you have access to UNLIMITED FREE LANDING PAGES!
Say whaaaat?
And their templates are already so well designed, that you don’t need any special skills to set everything up.
Just drop some images and text – It’s THAT easy!

Step 3: Friends = Fuel
And the final step is FRIENDS.
Ok, so the one caveat to this free ConvertKit plan is that you can ONLY collect email subscribers, but can’t do anything with them.
BUT!!!
Not for long, because if you truly believe that ConvertKit is awesome (like I do), you will want to share this news with your friends!
After all, an email list will make you income ONLY if it’s being used and nurtured. NOT when they are just numbers…
And when you refer one friend to Convertkit, you AND they unlock subscriber and broadcast sending!
So, once you collect a few email subscribers, you will want to either:
- Upgrade to the $29/month plan and unlock all features OR
- Invite one friend to unlock tags, segments, the ability to send email broadcasts to up to 100 people and more!
It’s so awesome!
Since if you refer 10 friends, you will be able to send emails to up to 1,000 people at a time, which is equivalent to the $29/months plan!
So, you are essentially saving $29/month + all of your friends get unlocked features and the ability to broadcast to up to 100 people!
It’s a win-win you guys!

After you keep growing your email list to 1,000+ subscribers, you will want to upgrade to a paid plan to keep growing your email list.
